We ate at Rifugio Genova after a beautiful hike from Malga Zannes. Panoramic location and excellent food.
A beautiful refuge with a view of the Odle, kind and attentive service. The food is very good and even though it was quite full, they were quick. With a short walk (15 minutes) you reach the Col di Poma that dominates the valley
A real authentic hut, as you imagine. The hut warden is very nice and has attention for everyone.
Fast service and very friendly staff! We were able to try the apple strudel specialty. The best we've ever tasted.Access to restrooms and fresh water tomorrow. There's a passable road behind the refuge, so you can reach civilization if necessary.
Very friendly staff with everyone. Extensive menu with simple cuisine suitable for the mountains, more than honest prices. Very short waiting times at least before midday (afterwards it starts to get very crowded). Excellent beer. I did not stay there and did not enter the structure but I ate outside
A girl in our group felt ill during the night. Although the owners had a car and could easily take her down to the valley, they preferred not to "waste time", forcing her to walk back to Passo delle Erbe, without showing the slightest interest in her health.Dinner was good, but breakfast was rather poor. "Hot" showers cost €3, but the water was cold. Rooms and cleanliness in line with expectations, although a pillow that can be defined as such would have been more appreciated. Finally, at the time of payment we were not offered the possibility of splitting the bill (€450) in three via POS.
Climbed from the Erbe pass, a challenging climb but a beautiful panoramic area, I didn't eat in the refuge just a coffee and a good home-made barrique Grappa, it was also worth eating given the dishes, very kind and hospitable staff...
This was the best refugio i stayed at during Alta via 2. Such a beautiful location, worth it after a strenuous hike. Very good and friendly service. I ordered spaghetti bolognese and received it within 5 minutes of ordering, and it was a big portion too for only 10€.
Great hut in a great location. My wife and I stayed here on a Tuesday night in early October. We were able to take 5min hot showers for 3€ each. The property is very well maintained, and the food is quite good. Breakfast was basic but (or perhaps because) all-you-can-eat. We were welcomed, and staff was always very friendly. The only real limitations were: 1. The rooms were utterly unheated and outright cold (probably 10°C). The provided bedding was sufficient to keep you warm at night, but it was hard to regulate your sleeping temps, because sticking your foot or arm out from below the comforter would cause you frost bite within 15 minutes. 😉 So some low-grade heating of the rooms would've been appropriate. 2. There are no power outlets inside the rooms and you have to charge your phones in the hallway.
Hard beds. Small blankets. Creaky floor. Full of smelly pensioners. They expect everyone to eat breakfast at exactly the same time which creates a huge queue, a cramped dining space and makes for a not-so-peaceful morning experience. I would walk past this place if I had the choice.
An amazing stay on our 3 night trip! A bit busy, but everything runs very smoothly. Great view of the sunset!
OMG this is such a nice Refugio to stay. Very beautiful location with great views, very convenient stop for Dolomite VS2 hikers. The dinner is good. We had beef stew which is super tasty - definitely Italy mama’s recipe and cook. Room is very nice too like it was just remodeled. The host is very nice and always wanted to help. This is our first stop for the 11 day VS2 hiking and a really good start.
